To the members of Christ Church:

With our change in schedule for the summer months, Sue Ellen Rumstay has found it stressful to get from Christ Church to First Christian Church where she also serves as an organist. Whenever we went to a service at 10:00, it was impossible for her to stay with us for the entire service and meet her other obligations. Unfortunately, she has tendered her resignation as organist at Christ Church.

Christ Church has been fortunate to have her as our organist for over twenty years. She played our organ while she worked full-time in the public schools, played the organ at our neighbor church and sang in the demanding Sine Nomine choir. Doing just one of these would have been enough for anyone of lesser talent and energy. Sue Ellen will be missed but she assures me she will remain a part of our community.

On August 25th we would like to have a special coffee hour at 9:00 before church in honor of Sue Ellen. Additionally, we will be collecting a purse to give her as a token of our appreciation for her years of service. Donations may be made by check to Christ Church with a notation that it is for Sue Ellen; or cash donations may be brought by the church office during regular business hours.

We all thank Sue Ellen for making a joyful noise unto the Lord and for enabling so many to know the Lord through her gifts and talents.

The Rev. Joye Cantrell, Interim Rector
